Raising families out of Water Poverty in Rwanda

I’ve just returned from a trip to Rwanda… and my heart is full. ❤️

After two previous trips to Mexico building homes for those in need, and two to The Gambia delivering clean water interventions, this past week I joined the Amor Europe team again, this time in Rwanda, for a mission that left a lasting mark on all of us.

Our goal: To help lift people out of water poverty, not just by delivering clean water but by equipping communities with hygiene and sanitation education that drives better health, education, and opportunity.

I travelled with old friends and new faces, a truly special group of people I feel deeply grateful to have worked alongside.

🇷🇼 Rwandan culture is full of colour, music, and joy, even in the face of daily hardship. Some of our village visits were deeply emotional and humbling… but we also celebrated some incredible milestones:

– 138 Sawyer water filters distributed, bringing 10+ years of clean, safe water to over 1,400 people
– 206 period poverty packs delivered by an amazing group of women, alongside hygiene education
– 35 additional packs donated to kickstart 7 micro-businesses producing reusable sanitary products locally

After a 26+ hour journey home, I’m back, tired, but inspired and reminded of how much impact we can have when we come together.
